Simon

This is my furr baby, Simon, who was scheduled to be put down, because he is deaf. One of the most exquisite cats I have ever seen, he is part Siamese, and has a very regal presence about him. His eyes are pools of the clearest blue ocean waters and his cry is very different, like Siamese...for a male, very high -pitched and LOUD. He is a very special one and I often wonder what he thinks...he hears with his eyes...and I am trying to develop hand and other gestures to communicate with him...I will have to get a picture of him awake so everyone can see his gorgeous beauty, this boy has a beautiful soul. And he is alive and well, with me.

  1. For many years my deaf white cat Puki Ratt was a beloved companion. She learned to come for dinner when lights were flashed, she knew hand signals, and she used to love going for a walk in downtown Philadelphia - perhaps because the noises did not scare her. Her favorite cat toys were plastic straws that she would fetch or carry in her mouth up and down the staircase, with one end flapping the wood posts like cardboard in a child's bicycle spokes. I still miss her35 years later.

    1. Thank you for sharing your story...I know how heartbreaking it is to loose a pet...even after a long time has passed. I am still working with Simon, he is so smart! I need to post a pic of his face when he is awake...

  2. He is beautiful!! My cat is not deaf but he was a rescue that I fell in love with at first sight here online! He is a polydactyl and was in pretty bad shape. The lady who rescued him is an angel and I adopted him from her via facebook! He is the most amazing, sweet spirit. So I really know just how you feel :)Anyway, I want to follow your blog but do not see a 'follow' button. But it is very nice to see you and thank you for visiting my blog too. You know I love your work. xokp
