Here I am with the pieces I did for my Drawing 1 Class, "Make Mine SunnySide" and "Study In CharCoal". On Friday April 24 th., there was an art show opening event at the gallery in town. It was a student art show of art students from two local colleges. My two pieces were class projects using charcoal. Working from a still life can be a challenge, especially when you must draw whatever is in front of you! No matter what the subject!!! Or angle!
I am one of the "oldie" students, but love the comradely amongst all the artistic souls. This was actually the first time my work has ever been in an art gallery! What a fabulous feeling!!! Had to share!
Congratulations! The drawings look wonderful! My middle daughter is an art major and is doing many "still lifes" right now. Sometimes I wish I were in class with her. It looks fun. The college she attends has a policy against nude models so she was relieved about that! ha ha
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing-they are out of this world!
ReplyDeleteFun-Fun-congrats!
Congratulations! Those are both fantastic! Wow!!
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing quite like gallery lighting and seeing your artwork on a gallery wall for the first time! Hopefully the first of many gallery showings to come...Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteYou look stunning! And so are the drawings :D Well done!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, love your art! I always make a mess with this medium, so I really respect the talent you have. Thank you for sharing with me about my art, I have held so much conflict and struggle within. My deepest desire is to paint these angels. Realizing about Mr Simpson I was heading this way right from the beginning of my life and feel so passionate about. Jane is an inspiration. I have upset Jane three times now. I think that I will have to paint the noses with one line, this way I am not going to get every now and then, a close match on the nose, eye area. Hopefully this will mend the situation.
ReplyDeleteReally looking forward in seeing your future art!
All the best and blessings!

Oh, how fun! You don't look like an 'oldie' student! They must be babies in your class.
ReplyDeleteLove your work. I would love to take a class someday.
